Mack/Volvo Corporate is the most common
suspension used on their newer vehicles. This air
ride suspension can be found on everything from
long haul over the road trucks to smaller straight
trucks. The suspension features a "Z" style
spring connected to a torque leaf which attaches
to the hanger. The Z spring rests in the hanger
against a special wear pad. The suspension also
requires a transverse torque rod. There are three
different hangers and torque leaf designs used
with this suspension and are grouped by the
years used in production. Below is a drawing
of each hanger and the years in service.
