MACK: SS44 SERIES, CAMELBACK
Mack Camelback is a single point spring
suspension that pivots on a trunnion bushing.
The suspension has a unique hump in the
spring stack that lends to its name. It is
easily identifiable and comes in a variety of
capacities. The most common version is the
SS44 series that uses 4" wide springs and
a trunnion bushing with a 3 1/2" ID. This
suspension has been around for decades
and has a proven track record for reliability.
It is commonly found on vocational trucks
and especially on dump trucks.
